6 Ways to Make Your Bathroom Look More Luxurious

Living in an apartment, there’s a high chance that you will not have the huge master bathroom you have always dreamed of – there’s just not enough space. Just because you won’t have a huge bathroom complete with a bathtub, standup shower and a hot tub does not mean you can’t make your bathroom appear more luxurious than the standard apartment bathroom. Here are a few ways you can decorate your bathroom and make it look like it belongs in the master suite of the Four Seasons.

Decorative Towels

Many luxury hotels provide the softest towels you can imagine to ensure their guests’ comfort during their stay. Bring this lavish statement into your own bathroom by purchasing soft and fluffy towels in light and luxurious shades. White is a good option, but other colors such as gray or royal blue work just as well. To go the extra mile, get your towels monogrammed. Embroider anything you desire, such as your initials or the first letter of your family’s last name. The soft feel of your towels along with the elegant colors and embroidery will make your apartment’s bathroom look and feel more luxurious.

Use a Curved Shower Rod

The showers in five-star hotel bathrooms are usually large enough to leave you wondering, “Why aren’t all showers this roomy?” Although you cannot make your apartment’s shower any bigger than it already is, you can give it the illusion of being more spacious. Using a curved shower rod instead of a straight one will give you more elbow room, which will make the shower look and feel less cramped.

Tile Rug

In an apartment, you may not be able to alter the tiles as you please, but you can add a new tile pattern to the floor by purchasing a tile rug. There are many options to choose from and each one will meet your design needs. If you want to add some life to the bland white tiles, go for an intricate tile design on the rug. If the tiles on your floor already have a complex design, opt for a simpler design. Regardless of the rug you choose, it will add sophistication and elegance to your bathroom.

Extra Seating

Since there is so much space in luxury bathrooms, some extra form of seating is usually included. Placing an ottoman in a corner of the bathroom will benefit you in two ways: it will add seating as well as extra storage. Most ottomans open up, which provides you with a place to store any extra toiletries that may be lying around. Look for a nearby store to purchase an ottoman, or any other form of seating that will be the perfect addition to your bathroom.

Store Your Products in Glass Jars

Instead of leaving all of your products and toiletries lying out in the open, store them strategically. Storing liquid hand soap in a decorative soap dispenser will look a hundred times more luxurious than leaving it in the plastic bottle that it usually comes in. The same goes for hand or body lotions. Glass jars also come in handy when looking for alternative storage methods that will house your toiletries while adding an element of décor. Use decorative storage options, such as glass jars, decorative boxes or organizers to store cotton balls, Q-tips, and any other toiletries.

More Lighting

More lighting in your bathroom will make it appear more spacious. A bathroom with dark colored rugs, dark curtains and minimal lighting will look more cramped, which is the exact opposite of luxurious. Installing vanity lights around the mirror will add extra lighting and make it easier to get ready in the morning.  Vanity lights are found in the most luxurious hotels and can transform your own bathroom into a luxurious one. If you are unable to install vanity lights, just do your best to ensure that there is enough lighting. A light colored shower curtain can help bring more light into the room.
